The prevalence of the walk-in urgent care center has grown quite tremendously over the course of recent years. As a matter of fact, the walk-in urgent care center can be found in just about every community, at least in the United States. Currently, there are more than 7,000 such walk-in urgent care locations spread all throughout the country, up from just over 6,000 back in the year of 2015.
More and more people are visiting these walk-in urgent care centers than ever before as well. As of recently collected data, more than one quarter of the entire population of this country alone has visited a walk-in urgent care center at least once over the course of the year. In addition to this, up to 20,000 doctors are currently working at such medical clinics in the United States. There is a lot of talk in the United States these days about health care. The issue has become so politicized and controversial it can be easy to wonder whether or not the country will ever see a better, cheaper, and more accessible health care system for all. But until a new solution is legislated, we can at least have some peace of mind in the fact that there are several different medical facilities around the country. Some of these centers are generalized while others are specialized, meaning there are options for the broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries that humans can encounter.
