Behind The Benefits Of A Private School Education Here In The United States

Your child’s schooling is an incredibly important thing, there is certainly no doubt about this fact. After all, the quality of the education that they get in their early years can very much shape the opportunities that are present to them later on in life, as well as their success in their later years as well. For this reason, deciding where to send your child for school is a hugely important decision and not one to be taken lightly in any sense of the word.

For many parents, the top private schools provide a viable alternative to the public school system, which is certainly not at the standards that they should be all throughout the country. In fact, top private schools are, in some districts, the only place at which a child can receive a viable education. The top private schools are available for children of all ages, from those just beginning elementary school to those who are preparing for high school. Following a course of the top private schools in your area can help to prepare your child for the future, giving them the schooling that they need – and the schooling that they very much deserve.

And the benefits of the top private schools are certainly not ones to be discounted. For instance, very few private school teachers feel that their students are apathetic about school and learning – in fact, less than 5% of them all throughout the country actually feel this way. Unfortunately, more than one fifth of all public school teachers struggle with student apathy in their classrooms, sometimes on what feels like an insurmountable scale.

And a lack of parent involvement is something that is also faced by more than 20% of all public school teachers all throughout the United States as well, as public school parents often find themselves – and their child or children – lost within the school system and don’t have all that much motivation to engage with it on a deeper level. At the top private schools, however, parent engagement levels are high, with again less than 5% of all teachers at such schools feeling that the matter of parent engagement could actually stand to be improved upon.

The private school curriculum is often much more up to par with the expectations of colleges around the country as well – and sometimes even exceeds these expectations by quite a bit. This means that the top private schools found in this country – particularly the best private high schools – routinely churn out higher average test scores than the public schools found in the same area, even within the same district. In fact, the data has even shown that the average SAT score at the top private schools in the United States is often more than 200 points above the average SAT score found at any given public school.

And students of the top private schools, aside from a more intensive curriculum, also simply have better access to resources. Take guidance counselors, for example. In public school settings, there are often not enough guidance counselors for the number of students, meaning that the average guidance counselor is able to spend less than even just one fourth of their time on matters surrounding college. For private school counselors, things are much different and such guidance counselors find themselves able to spend as much as 55% of their total time on preparing their caseload of students for college and walking them through the college application process (and all else that goes along with it).

At the end of the day, the students of the top private schools also have better physical materials at their disposal as well. Digital textbooks are likely to be more common, as are computer labs with top of the line computers. This is even likely to be the case at private elementary schools and private middle schools too, some of which have even begun to provide personal tablets for their students, which can typically only be used over the course of the school year and not outside of it.
